An explosion of visual art and sound will soon be taking place in downtown Birmingham this weekend. Yonder Walls is a free mural and music festival that’s taking over the city’s Parkside district on Saturday between noon and 8 p.m. Organizers of the event have paid 44 artists to paint 35 colorful murals all over the exterior of Urban Supply, a multi-use urban development facility located at 1301 First Avenue South. Now, the community is invited to enjoy the artwork while frolicking in the kids zone, buying from local vendors, enjoying good grub from local food trucks and participating in the community wall. A diversity of performances, including Birmingham music artist Love Moor and hip-hop duo Shaheed and DJ Supreme, will dominate the stage located at the intersection of First Avenue South and 13th Street South before Grammy-award-winning singer Pynk Beard closes out the night. The music lineup is as follows: - 12:15 p.m.: Shaheed and DJ Supreme - 12:55 p.m.: Womona Wiles and Twhat Weiland - 1:40 p.m..: Daan Rana - 2: 20 p.m.: Cash Langdon - 3:10 p.m..: Just Liv - 3:55 p.m.: Rebecca Egeland - 4:40 p.m.: Sick F*cks - 5: 30 p.m.: Love Moor - 6:15 p.m. Pynk Beard According to Yonder Walls’ Instagram, Redemptive Cycles will be hosting a bicycle valet for those who would rather bike than drive to the event.
